The Palme Center and our member organisations support popular movements in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Somalia and Swaziland. In all five countries our focus lies on organising and gender equality.

In South Africa the activities are focused on strengthening the political influence of women, workers and the rural population to increase their ability to assert their rights.

In Nambia, South Africa and Zimbawe we work together with women organisations, trade unions and free media.

Within the party-oriented democracy support the Swedish Social Democratic Party and the Palme Center are engaged in the  regional educational program Management of African Political Parties School, (MAPPS) with the focus of democratic leadership. We are also engaged in Program for Young Politicians in Africa (PYPA) which is a multi-pary project  involving politically active young people in Southern Africa.
