Together with our partners and allies Palme Center works as a counterforce – defending democratic space and promoting progressive change. We do this through advocacy, knowledge-sharing and platforms for collaboration and learning.ADVOCATING FOR A JUST AND SUSTAINABLE WORLD
Advocacy is central to our work, in Sweden and internationally. Together with our partners in over 30 countries, we support efforts to influence policy, shape public debate and drive reforms.
We strengthen our partners’ ability to engage in political processes, contribute to policy development and hold decision-makers to account.
In Sweden, we raise awareness of global issues and contribute to public debate through campaigns, seminars and opinion pieces.
We also work through alliances and networks – nationally and internationally – to strengthen our collective voice and increase our impact.
KNOWLEDGE THAT DRIVES CHANGE
Knowledge is the foundation for engagement, organising and advocacy. Popular education and collaborative learning are therefore central to our work.
In Sweden, we share knowledge about global development and our political priorities with our member organisations and their members, to build awareness and engagement in international solidarity.
With our partners, we support learning on rights, leadership, organisational development and thematic issues. This strengthens both individuals and organisations.
Through the Palme Resource Center, we provide tools, methods and digital training. The Palme Academy brings together partners and members for exchange through meetings, seminars and conferences.
ORGANISING & BUILDING ALLIANCES
Change happens when people organise – in trade unions, political parties and social movements – and when these actors join forces to raise their voices together.

A core part of our work is to strengthen organisations and build movements. This requires long-term partnerships supported by stable and reliable funding.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
The Palme Center focuses on three key thematic policy areas: Democracy and equality, Just transition, and Peace and dialogue.In these areas, we bring together long experience, strong expertise and broad networks in Sweden and internationally. Our staff, together with our international partners and Swedish member organisations, form a shared global platform for knowledge, learning and advocacy. Through this, we contribute to joint learning and to advancing progressive politics and sustainable development.
