Mobilising resources
Mobilising resources
A core part of our work is to strengthen organisations and build movements. This requires long-term partnerships supported by stable and reliable funding. In a changing and uncertain global context for development cooperation, it is increasingly important for us to have a diversified funding base. Our funding comes from institutional donors, our member organisations and private fundraising.
Institutional funding
The Palme Center’s work is primarily funded through grants from institutional donors – notably the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the European Union.
In recent years, the conditions for government funding have become more uncertain. We are therefore working to broaden our funding base and develop new partnerships.
The Palme Center has strong capacity to manage large-scale programmes and funding agreements. If you are interested in partnering with us, we welcome you to get in touch.
Fundraising
Our work is also made possible through contributions from our member organisations and donations from individuals.
Our member organisations play an important role in co-financing our programmes. Individual supporters contribute through regular donations and campaigns.
Together, these contributions strengthen our independence and enable long-term work for democracy, human rights and social justice.
ORGANISING & BUILDING ALLIANCES
Change happens when people organise – in trade unions, political parties and social movements – and when these actors join forces to raise their voices together.
ADVOCATING & SHARING EXPERTISE
Together with our partners and allies Palme Center works as a counterforce – defending democratic space and promoting progressive change.
