The Palme Academy consists of a set of trainings on how to successfully run and develop democratic parties. It aims to bring social democratic parties from all over the world together to exchange experiences and build global networks.
Introduction course: How to run and represent a party
After this course, you will have a good overview of how to form, organise, develop, and represent a democratic party.What is the course about?
This six module introduction course gives an introduction to and overview of different key fields involved in running and representing a successful democratic party.
Who is the course for?
The course is developed for representatives and leaders of Social democratic parties around the world. It is also useful for active members, in which case it can be used for self-study or as part of local member courses or study circles.
Where is the course held?
The trainings are carried out in the sister parties’ own countries — either with the participation of Swedish experts or by the parties themselves.

Course structure
The course is divided into six modules. Each module has its own course material.
You can use these study materials to design your own party trainings on the respective topics. Each material can also be used for 2-5 meetings in the form of a study circle to discuss the questions and ideas that the module raises.
Palme Academy advanced trainings
The Palme Center also holds indepth trainings for high-level participants within sister parties.The advanced trainings include topics of ideology, policy development, internal democracy and party organising, as well as election methods and strategies.
They are held both as in-person meetings and as digital courses.
